The Arundel Carvers Club

2012 January Club Competition entriesThe club was organized in 1986 by a group of water fowl and bird carvers from the Annapolis, MD area. The purpose of the club is to promote the art of wood carving through mutual support and sharing of skills, techniques and knowledge.

The Club normally meets each Wednesday morning just west of Annapolis at the American Legion Post # 7 on Crownsville Road about 500 feet north of its intersection with Rt. 450.  [A little South, and on the same side, of the Renaissance Festival fair grounds on Crownsville Road.]

Whether you are a beginner or an expert carver, you will find a very comfortable fellowship in our club. Carving is not limited to waterfowl but includes members’ wide interests in songbirds, birds of prey, carousel horses, feather pins, fish, animals, caricatures, Santa Clauses, reliefs, chip carving, canes, model ships, and plants/flowers to name a few.  If members have a problem with their projects there is almost always someone around who can help.

Our members have competed successfully at the famous Ward World Championship Wildfowl Carving Competition, Ocean City, MD and other competitions in the region.

Dues are $35 per year, most of which is used for  rent for use of the American Legion meeting hall.

Our club usually has two parties with competitions each year.

Visitors and old and new carvers are welcome.  If you are interested in woodcarving or whittling,  stop by the American Legion mentioned above or contact:
